With swimsuit season approaching quickly, people are buying new swim suits and getting ready for the warm weather. Many unique styles of swim suits are emerging, such as monokinis, 50’s-style one pieces, and lingerie inspired swim suits.

Lingerie elements can be seen in swim wear this season, from shape to patterns and fabric. Target swim wear has produced a bikini that has lace embroidered into it much like a fancy bra.

Likewise, many online sites have been featuring lingerie inspired swim suits with underwire and frills, like below:

As summer approaches, more designers are sure to come out with more lingerie inspired, unique swim suits.

The newest trend in the fashion world is to incorporate lingerie into your regular attire for a sexy, unique look. Here are some tips for pulling off the day-time lingerie look from Tegan at Yandy (check out their lingerie here):

DO keep it subtle. Lacy camisoles, sheer baby dolls, and classy corsets are all subtle additions to a pair of jeans, a set of leggings, etc. Remember, you’re adding lingerie elements to the outfit, not the other way around.

DON’T expose too much skin. While that lacy, ruffled peek-a-boo bra may be sexy, it’s hard to pull of when walking around in public. Try incorporating fancy bras into low cut camisoles, or sheer tops.

DO wear it as regular clothing. If you’re wearing a lingerie piece under a bulky sweater or t-shirt, then you’re just wearing lingerie under clothing, not as clothing.

DON’T be afraid to make the lingerie piece the attention getting part of your outfit. If you’re brave enough to wear lingerie in public, then make the most of it.

DO choose fun, classy/cute pieces to include. Embroidered tops, ruffled bras, and bow accented straps are all sexy pieces to show off.

DON’T choose flat, shapeless lingerie. That plain cotton camisole in boring tan color? Save it for bed time, unless you’re going to dress it up with accessories.
